The U.S Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) creates and enforces safety standards for work places. The Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens Standards the standard was designed to eliminate or minimize employees’ exposure to human blood and other potentially infections materials in the workplace. This applies to all employees who as part of their job my reasonable expect to be exposed to blood and other potentially infections materials that may contain pathogens. This course is also designed to encourage you to actively participate as a way of practicing what you are learning. Should you be exposed to blood or blood-containing while on the job, the information and actions you learn in this course will help you protect yourself from blood borne pathogens and disease. Being prepared to protect yourself and to act in a safe manner is essential. At the end of the course, you will be given a card for 1 year.
